Mascara Monday: Stila Major MAJOR last mascara
Happy Monday, pretty people! I hope that you all had a wonderful weekend. I am shocked at how fast these days are and weeks are flying by. I have only a few words for this mascara. Not because I didn’t like it but because I found that it was just a regular ole’ mascara. Check the review.
Price: 2 out of 5 ($22 from StilaCosmetics.com, Sephora.com or Sephora and Ulta stores)

What it claims: “Our long-lasting, plush formula is still the best in the business, known for leaving your lashes looking extra long and luxurious. MAJOR major lash mascara is the one you need to leave a MAJOR lasting impression.”
The truth: It’s good. I mean, it’s a really good mascara.
What I loved about it: The volume and length is definitely there. It is rich and black and even after several coasts it doesn’t weigh down the lashes.
What I didn’t like: Yikes, the brush was a bit messy. And I think it is a little overpriced. It is a little on the clumpy side but nothing too out of control.
Overall: I’m impressed but I’m not doing cartwheels. I don’t see anything unique about this mascara but its performance is up to par.
Would I recommend it: Hmmm…I guess. Although I do think you can find similar mascaras with the same volume and length factor that Major Lash has for a cheaper price.

Too expensive… Like you mention its good then I guess the reason the price is high… going to opt for a cheap version of course.

I think i tried it a longtime but don’t remember the effect…lol…it was during my search of the perfect mascara…lol…

Amina–> If you didn't remember it that means it probably wasn't that great. HA!! And those are just 2-strand twists, chica. I haven't had box braids since 5th grade. I wouldn't be a blast from the past. Wish I knew someone that could do them.

hey b! Never tried it..but I’m not big on purchasing high a$$ mascaras because I have horrible luck, and the ones I decide to try always suck lol. But I am waiting on u to review that new givenchy mascara (hint,hint) lol. But I have been lemming it so i may beat u to it! Happy Monday!

I will stick with my big bird-esque colossal. I am going to pick up Shiseido’s base. I have heard great things about that. I figure if it’s the ish than it will make any mascara the ish by association.
I’m gonna pass. Mascara poop is a deal breaker for me. It just seems like it would be one big mess.
Can you believe regular major lash is only $8.50…this one looks like a pass for me. Stila fiber optics is pretty good. It has that same “mascara poop” problem though. So annoying! It gets everywhere!

I’ve tried this one too and like you I was not doing cartwheels over it–the clump-age factor was an issue–and actually, I think you can get better mascaras for the same price or less. It’s okay, but I’m still on my quest for “the one”.
I’ve been using Smashbox’s Bionic Mascara (also pricey–about the same–but it was a gift) and really liking it, but it’s running out and now I’m in the market, as it were. I guess I just have to disagree with you on the brush, though–I like the big fluffy brushes. : ) Always love the video reviews, though! They really help. : )
I really like it although I’m not sure I’d pay $22 for it. I got mine in a set from Costco for $18.99 and it came with a quad and 2 brushes (check my YT rdstoner for a haul if you want to see the other stuff it came with).
Everything you said is true though. Great mascara but not necessarily great for the price.
I know this is an older post, but Nordstrom Rack has Stila sets ( 2 e/s, lip glaze, tinted moisturizer and the major mascara) for $15.97. Cant beat that!

I bought Stila's MAJOR Major lash mascara at costco.. (2 for $14.00).. and I actually like it =)
It wasn't love at first sight or anything… but for me, 2 coats does the trick! It volumizes nicely and gives a nice subtle curl to my straight lashes.
