Travel Beauty

I am extremely excited about visiting Chicago. It is one city in the States that I have yet to visit that I have realllly wanted to go to. After Chicago I’ll be wanting to visit Las Vegas, Seattle, Dallas, San Francisco, Denver and then I will be focusing more on International trips.

Oh yes, your Head Newb is a traveler. A very experienced one. I’ve had enough broken eyeshadows, TSA swipped lipsticks and busted bottles of lotions to know how to pack efficiently and lightly.

Here are my Top 3 Travel tips

1.. Wrap up those liquids/lotions.

I remember first visiting Hawaii and being so excited about throwing on one of my darling little sundresses. Of course the one I really wanted to wear was soaked with body wash. Yuck! Well, I thought I closed the top. Doesn’t matter. When your luggage goes through a numerous amounts of hits, bumps and jabs, something is pound to pop, seep or ooze out. Wrapping your lotions, body washes, perfumes and other liquid products insures that they don’t get all over your clothes.

2..Bring multi-purpose products.

I learned from taking trips from Los Angeles to Florida and back that packing lightly is MUST. Items that I can double up on are.

Conditioners-for hair, great for shaving, eye make-up remover and a phenomenal brow slicker.

Blush/bronzers-cheeks, eyes, lips and body shimmer.

MAC’s Fix + – Face refresher and great for using shadows/pigments/blushes wet.

Plane delays and late pick-ups from the airport are things I am allll too familiar with. I can list a ton of embarrassing moments that I’ve endured while traveling but nothing beats rummaging through a suitcase in the middle of Gate 45A searching for my cell phone charger. So that brings me to tip 3.

3..Keep your phone charger in your purse or in carry-on luggage. I know it sounds so simple but if you are like me and are constantly packing in a hurry this is something so easy to forget. And honey, trust me…the last thing you want is a dead phone while waiting or uhh…sleeping in the airport. I do the same with iPod charger.

What are some of your traveling tips? Anyone have any upcoming trips? Take me with youuuuu!

Great tips! Ziploc bags are my best friend when I travel. Not only does it keep toiletries and other things organized but it’s added protection against spillage.

  3. Taryn says:

Excellent tips, B. I learned the hard way too. Now I put a piece of saran wrap (the kind that clings) on the top of each shampoo/conditioner bottle and put them in Ziplocs.

I also use shampoo as my body wash too. :D

Amina–yesss, conditioner does work pretty well as a remover. Try it! You've returned from your trips and now I'm off on mine. We'll meet again soon, darling! Muah!

SuzieC–> Giiiirl, I have so many Ziploc bags that it's not even funny. TSA better keep things in order too.

Taryn–> Ah haaa! Saran wrap would work beautifully too. Why didn't I think of that?

Nikki–> Thank you, lovely!! Have a great week!

I know that you will have a great time! I will be trying the conditioner tip tonight. The charger is a must in the purse. I found one at Radio Shack that has interchangeable tips. It’s great because I only have to keep one charger in the car. I keep the different tips in the ashtray.

I go to target and get the sample sizes of everything from toothpaste to soap. Then put it all in a large zip lock bag so I dont have to worry about anything popping open. Its all small it only cost me a $1 at best and I can just wash off the bottles. But another great tip is if I"m going to visit family.(bro, sis, mom&dad) I just leave that stuff at home and pack only my toothbrush and deodorant. Just about everything else I can use theirs
