Y’all know I love causes. And I love when my favorite department store Macy’s jumps on the Cause Bandwagon too.

If you didn’t know, my darlings, heart disease is the #1 killer among American men and women. Since 2004, Macy’s has sponsored Go Red For Women and has donated over $21 million to the cause.
Macy’s also wants YOU to get involved….and here’s how:

•    Red is the color that saves at the Wear Red Sale <—you can get up to 20% off!
•    Take fashion to heart and buy the limited edition INC International Concepts Little Red Dress
•    Speak Up against heart disease by sharing your story at the Go Red Casting Calls
•    Attend a Go Red luncheon in your area
•    Join Go Red For Women
How will you do your part to help beat heart disease? I will wear red on Friday and continue to motivate others to take on better eating habits. Tell me what you will do and you can have the chance of winning a $25 gift card to Macy’s. This giveaway is sponsored by Macy’s and is only available to those in the United States. To be considered simply a comment in this post with your name, email address and your thoughts on how you feel as if you can help beat heart disease.
Contest ends Thursday, February 11, 2010 at 9:00 am. Winner will be selected at random.
Good luck and go red!!

Awareness is huge, and there is power in numbers … So participating in visible and established efforts (like mentioned above) is easy to do. I also encourage education and advocacy for young women, and as part of Girl Scouts, I enjoy helping make that possible in eastern Oklahoma.

I can support the fight against women's heart disease by researching heart healthy facts related to heart disease prevention and by sharing this info with others. Awareness is key. Sharing knowledge is powerful. I'll definitely be wearing red tomorrow in support of this important cause. Thanks for teaming up with Macy's to raise awareness & offer this giveaway.

  10. M says:

I always try to encourage friends and family members to eat healthier and exercise, use olive oil for cooking instead of butter, lay off or cut down on eggs and meat, drink reduced or low fat milk instead of regular, and eat whole grains instead of white bread. Also increase their consumption of fresh veggies and fruits, and lower their intake of sodium and caffeine.

  29. bellezza di sorella says:

My younger brother had open heart surgery when he was eight months old. They told us he wasn't going to live, but he did. Both of my grandmothers also both died of heart attacks at very young ages (one in her mid fifties and the other in very early sixties). So as you can see, heart disease is a very big deal in my family. Because of this I continuously try to eat well (sticking to my green veggies like you B! :D) even though I LOVE my chocolate and french fries and learn to have a cheat meal once a week if necessary and eat the rest of the week extremely healthy. I also try to encourage my friends and family to eat their veggies and protein too. Also- have you tried organic foods? THEY ARE FANTABULOUS!

    :D

Hope you are having a great weekend!

And even 2 yrs later I have a hard time grasping it. So I will continue to educate others thru meetings I attend and any fundraisers that I can do. Also on Friday imma do some banging red lips to show support, hey I am a makeup artist and if I can show support thru makeup I always will do so!
