Mascara Monday: Wet ‘N Wild MegaPlump mascara
It met my expectations as I didn’t expect anything super fancy. Mind if I’m honest? Everything about the mascara feels cheap. From the packaging not giving a lick of details, instructions or showing a picture of the wand, to the actual feel of the mascara in my head. It just didn’t feel sturdy. It reminded me of those “Let’s play make-up kits” that little girls had. Granted, I grew up this sisters but we weren’t THAT girly.
I know I shouldn’t complain as the mascara only cost me a little over $3 but still.
It didn’t seem to last long. A few minutes after application, it was gone with the wind. Exactly how that happened, I don’t know. I just know one minute I had decent volume and the next it was gone.
The volume that the mascara does provide is actually pretty good. My lashes were coated evenly without much clumping. The wand allowed me to separate my lashes with ease while wiggling from root to tip. One coat was great while a second coat really turned things up a notch. Very impressive! But the fact that it seemed to dissolve into thin air within minutes was just sad. Real sad.

I tried mega volume and OMG… terrible. It's way more worth it to pay $3 more and get something from Maybelline (or any other brand for that matter).
I had the exact same experience with this mascara. I read your review to see if I'd bought a bad tube or something, lol.
I was fine with the packaging actually but I'm not picky about mascaras and usually buy whatever is on sale (aka cheapest) and this is the first time that approach has backfired on me. (love my lips brand waterproof mascara has lasted through swimming in an over chlorinated pool on me! So I guess that gave me too much faith in cheap mascara.)
I did discover that this stuff is great for volume if you use a waterproof mascara over it…it keeps it from flaking into oblivion after an hour.
Steph—> I completely agree. Try again, WnW.
Mary—> I haven't tried it with a waterproof mascara over it. Hmmm, thanks for the tip!
My eyelashes are so limp and short that I primarily use MAC mascara's to get any type of definition. I would love it if I could find a cheap mascara
I've been experimenting with drugstore brands. Glad I saw your review and can pass this one up. I'll stick with Maybelline or CoverGirl when I can't get my favs.
sojazzy1—> There are a lot of cheap mascaras that are as good as or better than MAC's.
RainyDayDiva—> Yes ma'am, Mayb and CG do great when it comes to drugstore mascaras!
Try the Black Radiance Body Building mascara. It really surprised me– nice color payoff and volume!
I'll add it to my list. Thanks for the recommendation!
I've never used a WnW mascara and it looks like I never will.
B, can you please try out the Chantecaille Faux Cils Mascara, would love to know if it's worth spending 40 dollars on a mascara
I don't care for their mascaras, but I am loving their new eyeshadows a lot.
Nazih—> I'll had it to the list. Ohhh weee, that's pricey!
