CVS Beauty challenge + win a $50 gift card to CVS!
If you follow me on Twitter, you’ll see that I’m always sending out tweets about random drugstore discounts and sales. I’m in a drugstore at least twice a week and have called myself a drugstore paparazzi. Yep, camera and all. I’m usually hittin’ up CVS simply because there’s like 3 between my job and work and being a member of their BeautyClub has crazy perks. You get rewards just for buying the things that you were going to purchase anyway. After you’ve purchased up to $50 worth of beauty goodies, CVS will print out a $5 ExtraBuck at the end of your receipt. It’s THAT easy.
I had the mission of seeing if I could go to CVS and spend $50 on beauty goodies inspired by this past season’s New York Fashion Week. Well, y’all know how I am when it comes to beauty challenges….CHALLENGE ACCEPTED!

Creamy pink nails were a big highlight throughout NYFW. Also a big highlight are Maybelline’s new Color Show nail polishes. I managed to snag Born With It for less than $4.

We also saw a ton of gorgeous nail art hitin’ the runways. I’m not the type to sit and do some serious nail art (I’m too lazy, y’all) but what I will do is use those awesome Sally Hansen Salon Effects nail strips. And while they are time-consuming, I’ve found that applying a strip on just one nail can sometimes do the trick. This design is called Simply D-Vine. Get it? Vine?

Red lips was another trend and you’ll never see me complain about this one as I ADORE red lipstick. Especially Revlon’s red lippies. I got True Red for $9.49. But wait…it was buy 1, get one 50% off so I grabbed the beautiful Wild Orchid too.

Move over super loud blush. Bare faces were hot this past season and I couldn’t be happier. I love the natural look of bare skin or skin with just a touch of powder. Something subtle like Physician Formula’s Multi-Colored blush.

Pretty and super volumized lashes were a big hit. And they’re a big hit with me too. But here’s the thing…no mascara could really give me the look I was looking for I purchased some Ardell Lashes ($4.79) and applied ‘em. Uh. Or at least tried. I still feel some kinda way about false lashes but at least these didn’t irritate my eyes like crazy. Stay tuned for a review of ‘em!
My grand total in attempts to re-create the trends? $43.79 before taxes.

Not bad, uh? Best of all, because I used my trusty CVS card, this $24 will go towards my $50 which will result in a $5 coupon. Hollaaaa! I recently got the CVS Look Book for this season and woooowsers….

…keep your eyes peeled for these awesome new products hitting stands soon.

I can’t WAIT to snag those Salma Hayek polishes. I love everything I’ve tried in that line so I’m sure the polishes will be a hit. If you aren’t a member of the CVS BeautyClub, hop to it, girlfriend. You don’t know what you’re missing out on!
In honor of the awesomeness that is the CVS BeautyClub, I am giving away a $50 gift certificate to one lucky follower. Good luck, ducks!
[giveaway has ended]
Disclosure: I was provided with a gift card to make the above purchases but I was not paid to write this post. I decided on the products that were purchased and simply wanted to share with y’all how awesome CVS’ BeautyClub is.

The first thing I would purchase would be the new Cover Girl clump buster mascara! I’ve been dying to try it! Secondly I would look for a new bronzer, I’ve been wanting to try one of the Physicians Formula ones! I also want a cobalt blue nail polish and I really want to get a set of the nails strips!
The first thing I would buy? A L’Oreal Color Riche Caress Lipstick!
NeonChipmunk recently blogged about Wet n Wild Kabuki Powder Brush Review
I would probably buy tons of Nuance. Oh an nail polishes, milani blushes and whatever is buy one get one half off.
I would get me some makeup and some cold medicines
I would spend my gift card buying all Revlon products. I’m obsessed!
Thanks for letting me know about the Beauty Club. I have a CVS card, but I’m only just getting into all the online ways to get discounts!
As far as what I would first spend it on… probably another Maybelline Full & Soft waterproof mascara–so far that seems to be my HG! And maybe some hair moisturizing product, like another argan oil product or something??? I tried Organix’s when they had a sale, but I don’t know how much argan oil is actually in any of these products, so I’ll be trying a few out once I run out of product
I’m going to get some skin care goodies. Need a new moisturizer!
Great finds! Really loving that nail polish and blush. CVS is my favorite place to shop for drugstore makeup. So many deals!
I love going to CVS for cheaper beauty products!! I esepcially love the Milani brand – so cute!
Revlon’s True Red is a good dupe of MAC Ruby Woo, IMO. I own both, but definitely I think the difference in finishes merits the ownership of both lippies – but I’m a lipstick addict so I probably own way too many lipsticks for my own good
CVS FTW!
Amanda Val recently blogged about Girl About Town
I’d definitely go for all the color cosmetics that I’ve always wanted to try! Eyeshadows, Lipsticks, Blushes
Probably a Milani nail polish!
Emi at Project Swatch recently blogged about China Glaze Holiday Joy 2012 – Holo Glitters Swatches & Review

I would buy polish, and lipstick, and blush, oh my!
I would get BB Cream!! It’s a must have!!!!
I’d probably buy a lot of nail polish. Revlon, Milani, and Sally Hansen. There’s a lot of colors that I won’t let myself spend more than $2 on, and a gift card takes care of that!
not gonna lie, the first thing i’d check is to see if there’s any new sinful polishes, then i’d look for some new lippies (revlon, nyc, loreal), then off to hair care!
The first thing I would purchase with my $50 CVS Gift card would be Mascara and false lashes. I’m obsessed with Long Lashes and need to step up my game.
The first thing I woud buy would be the vampy Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Back Cherry
I am cracking out for the new Maybelline LE nail strips I saw–the fancy, blingy, black lacey-ones. NEED those!
PS–Those SH polishes look so freaking pretty I can hardly stand it. They could have the worst formula on earth, and I will buy them for the bottle. So pretty!

I love hauls!! I still have never shopped at CVS… I normally go to Target…
Oh and my entry is that I would buy the Revlon Colorstay Whipped makeup. I have the color Nude but it’s too light for my skin tone…
I would probably try to get the Laroche-Posay Anthelios 50 Daily Anti-Aging Primer — it’s a foundation primer with SPF 50! If it hasn’t arrived yet, I’d probably pick up some other stuff from Laroche-Posay or Vichy. The Vichy 3 in 1 Cleansing Water is totally non-irritating and wonderful for removing makeup, even waterproof mascara (except for CG Lashblast Volume in waterproof, LOL).
The first thing I would buy is some new mascara!

I would SO go hog wild on nail polish! Maybe some new hair stuff too.. Always looking for new product to try on my crazy curls!
Right now I’d probably buy skin stuff because my skin is DRY! Can you say scrub, shower oil, body cream? Oh and I’d restock my Milani eye liners IF I CAN FIND THEM. Physician’s Formula mascara with the growth serum (I know B didn’t like it but I want to try it). Lastly, I’d get some Revlon lip butters…yes plural.
I love bargains, I love at cvs there’s one like 5 minutes from my house. The first thing would be Maybelline BB cream still can’t find one to really match my skin

The first TWO things I would grab would be the new CoverGirl Clump Crusher mascara and a darker shade of the Revlon ColorStay Whipped foundation! I was an idiot and bought a shade that was far too light for me once I had swatched it at home, but I had already thrown away the receipt so I can’t exchange it. I would buy a darker shade to mix with it and, voila!; it would give me two full jars of the perfect shade! I love the texture and wear of this stuff, but, alas, the hubby is being mean and won’t let me buy another one until this one is used up.
i’d love to try the maybelline color tattoo eyeshadows
I’d have to buy some of the Holiday Sally Hansen polish strips–they’re the only thing that lasts through my job, and the designs are so cute!

I would buy some body wash and some more lip butter. I love cvs!
I would buy L’Oreal mascara
I would like to try some of the gorgeous Essie nail polish colors with this gift card.
The first thing I would buy with a $50.00 CVS Gift Card, would be the Physician’s Formula Happy Booster™ Glow & Mood Boosting Blush. I have been DYING to try this stuff out! My daughter and I have a little tradition on doctor appointment days, and we spend hours in CVS ooing and ahing over all the makeup we’d love to try if money were no object. A good comb, facial cleanser & moisturizer, & a few snacks.
I would try the Nuance Products
Rapidlash!!
The very first thing I would have to get is Rolo’s! I have to have my chocolate & caramel. :0) Then I’d head over to the polish aisle and get the more expensive polishes I normally wouldn’t buy because I end up arguing with myself about how much it costs. And then I’d have to find at least one bottle of WnW Black Creme that everyone seems to use just to try it out since I haven’t yet. :<)

I would spend it on nail polish and mascara!
perfume
I would totally get that Maybelline Cat Eyes Mascara!
Hmm, there are a couple of L’Oreal Infallible shades that I don’t have yet. I am also always on the hunt for a good mascara. Oh, and I have a small *cough* nail polish addiction, so any new polishes I see might need to come home with me.
I’d grab the new Covergirl Clump Buster mascara! I’ve being hearing nothing but great things about it! Thanks for the giveaway!
